Founded in summer 2007, Nyquist Music is an ensemble of musicians who are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in music and musical expression. 

Nyquist Music gets its name from the Nyquist theorem (after the Swedish engineer Henry Nyquist), which states a fundamental limit above which an image cannot be represented digitally. The name inspires the ensemble to aim to achieve what is potentially possible, recognizing the fundamental limitations to achieving the ideal.
